Mission Trip - Team Commitment

Mission Team Member Expectations

As a member of this Souls Church Missions team, I commit to actively participate in and support the whole team to accomplish the goals of our particular project. I recognize that by being a part of this team I am agreeing to the following:

Standard of Excellence:
  • Have a regular time of Bible Study and prayer
  • Arrive early to all events, if you are on time you are late.
  • Never complain
  • Always be looking for opportunities to serve
  • Have a spirit of flexibility assuming that plans often change.

Team Mindset:
  • Make it a priority to attend the monthly team meetings and be an active participant in all team and project activities
  • Attend the mandatory Missions Training Days and Team Fundraisers
  • Submit to the authority of the team leader(s) and respect their leadership and decisions.
  • Pray daily for the trip following the trip prayer calendar.

Finances:
  • I commit to meet the payment deadlines and realize that I will not be able to attend the trip if I do not have the funds in on time, 30 days from the trip departure date.
  • In the event I am unable to participate in the trip or unable to raise the required support, all funds are non-refundable and non-transferable to a future trip.
  • In the event, I remove myself from this trip, other than for an extenuating circumstance: serious medical condition with a doctor’s note, natural act of God, etc.) – I am 100% responsible to pay the remaining trip balance in full 30 days from my trip resignation.
  • In the event, an act of God (i.e. natural disaster, hurricane, storm, safety alert, global pandemic, or serious medical condition, etc.) delays or cancels this trip, I understand my team mission funds cannot be reimbursed (per 501c3 laws) but the funds will be set aside in my personal missions account for a rescheduled or future missions trip.
Missions Team Honor Code
As an essential part of the Souls Church Family, you have a responsibility to develop and exhibit mature Christian behavior. This should be the basic premise of your desire to work in a Servant Leader position.

While serving the Body of Christ as a Missions Trip Team Member at Souls Church, you pledge to present a good appearance at all times. In both attire and behavior, you should strive to demonstrate Biblical standards in all situations.
As Christians, the way we present ourselves to others is of vital importance to the way others perceive Christ. Our conduct should never be an embarrassment to Christ, but should exemplify the best qualities of a mature believer and Servant Leader.

Exemplifying the highest moral commitment, Souls Church team members are to maintain a disciplined life of Bible reading, prayer, and active church attendance.
By providing an example in speech and action, we encourage others to grow in Christ and become Servant Team Members themselves. This is a way of life measured by the heart and commitment of each leader in the Souls Church family.

We should regard it as an essential part of our development, not as an imposition or restriction.
Medical Consent: If I need medical attention during the Mission Trip (including any travel to or from the Mission Trip), I give Souls Church Leadership permission to seek emergency transport, medical diagnosis, and medical treatment with any medical facility or provider (both foreign and domestic), which in Souls Church Leaderships best judgment it deems to be necessary or appropriate under the circumstances. I hereby give my express consent to any such emergency transport or medical treatment deemed necessary and appropriate by SC Leadership. I understand I am financially responsible for all medical and transportation expenses incurred as a result of the use of this medical consent.
Travel Disclaimer: I understand that Souls Church assumes no liability for injury, damage, loss, accident, delay, or irregularity in connection with the services of any airplane, motor coach, or any other conveyance used in carrying out this Mission Trip, or for the acts or defaults, financial or otherwise, of any company or person engaged in transporting me or in carrying out the arrangement of the Mission Trip. I understand that Souls Church is not responsible for and does not assume liability for breach of contract or any intentional or careless actions or omissions on the part of suppliers, or any person or entity rendering any other services included in the Mission Trip, which result in any loss, damage, delay, inconvenience, accident, or injury. I further understand that Souls Church accepts no responsibility for any damage, delay, or cancellation due to sickness, pilferage, labor disputes, mechanical or construction difficulties, war, quarantine or diseases, social or labor unrest, government restraints, terrorism, weather, acts of God, or any other cause beyond its control and that I have been hereby warned of such risks.
Release and Waiver: I hereby fully and expressly waive, release, and forever discharge Souls Church, Inc. from, any and all liability, claims, and demands of whatever kind or nature, either in law or in equity, that may arise from my participation in the Mission Trip (including all related transportation). I UNDERSTAND THAT THIS RELEASE DISCHARGES SOULS CHURCH FROM ANY LIABILITY OR CLAIM THAT I, MY REPRESENTATIVE HEIRS, ESTATES, BENEFICIARIES, SUCCESSORS, AND ASSIGNS MAY HAVE AGAINST SOULS CHURCH, WITH RESPECT TO ANY BODILY INJURY, PERSONAL INJURY, ILLNESS, DEATH, PROPERTY DAMAGE, OR PROPERTY LOSS THAT MAY RESULT FROM MY PARTICIPATION IN THE MISSION TRIP (INCLUDING ALL RELATED TRANSPORTATION), WHETHER CAUSED BY THE NEGLIGENCE OF SOULS CHURCH OR OTHERWISE. I agree not to make or bring any such claim or demand, referenced above, against Souls Church, Inc.
