Reopening Update

Hello Church Family,

 Face Covering Update

In an effort to be a good neighbor, serve one another well and honor our Governor’s executive order requiring face coverings in public beginning this Saturday, July 25, face coverings will be required for everyone over age 5 inside Souls Church and Souls Kids beginning this Sunday, July 26.

If you have a medical condition that prevents you from wearing a mask, you are exempt from this order. Due to HIPAA, we will not ask you abut your medical condition. In addition, all musicians, singers, and those speaking on stage with proper physical distancing, will not be required to wear a face-covering (while on stage).

We understand that this is a challenge for many, and we will do our best to accommodate every need. We will have disposable masks for those who don’t have their own, but we have a very limited supply available so please bring your own if you have one. If you are uncomfortable wearing a mask or are high at risk, please join us this Sunday for Church Online at 11 am on our website, app, Facebook, or YouTube from the comfort of home and be sure to say “HI!” in the chat!!

We continue to maintain a value of excellence here at Souls Church, so we are striving to make your experience and time with us still life-giving and GREAT!! We will be rolling out some fun experiences to make our mask-wearing a little more…creative. Be watching for more updates of the fun things we have in store for you as we make this transition!

Here’s the good news. Jesus is still on the throne. We still get to be together. Our church is physically still open. This is just a season, not a life sentence. Plus, it’s only an hour. Let’s be known for our love for Jesus and for a world in need during this time!

Thank you for your understanding and flexibility through all of this as we navigate our way through the COVID-19 pandemic,

Souls Church, Leadership Team

Souls Church reopens for in-person worship this Sunday, July 12!

Saturday, July 11, 2020

At Souls Church, we want you to know we are going above and beyond to keep our community safe and healthy. At this time, the following plan will be enacted per CDC guidelines and social distancing requirements for our church reopening effective July 12, 2020. Any public location where people are present provides an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19. While we cannot guarantee that you will not be exposed while you are at Souls Church, we will do our best to provide a safe and respectful worship experience. Below you can find our full plan on what Staff and our Dream Team will do, what you need do, and what we as a community can do to keep everyone safe and also operate according to CDC guidelines.

Covid-19 Reopening Guidelines
Again, we know that some of you might not be ready to come back, and that’s completely fine! You can continue to worship with us through Souls Church Online and find ongoing, daily content through our app, Facebook, and Instagram platforms.
We wanted to take a moment to answer a few more questions that have come in as we prepare to reopen on this weekend:
Will temperature checks be required? At this time, we are not requiring temperature checks to enter the auditorium, however, we are requiring temperature checks for those attending Souls Kids!
What about those who are considered more vulnerable or are caring for those who are? If you are vulnerable for any reason, we are encouraging you to remain home and enjoy the service online. If you have any symptoms or have been around anyone who has shown symptoms, we ask that you remain home from Souls Church for at least 14 days.

Will Church Online still be available? For the past several months, we’ve been grateful for the ability to worship together at Church Online, and we encourage you to continue to attend online if you or a family member doesn’t feel well, or if you’re just not ready to attend church at a physical location. You’re part of our Souls Church family no matter where you choose to attend!

Our Church Online experience is also a great option if you want to invite a friend to join you or you know someone is exploring their faith! Each Sunday at 11am, you can head to to experience worship, the message, and the community of your church family through chat and prayer. You can also find an online community on our Facebook Page, app, and our YouTube channel on demand.

Will Souls Kids Online still be available? We have various videos and online experiences available on our website. New content will be released weekly throughout the end of the summer.

What safety measures are you taking to keep children and families healthy? Souls Kids are limited to a 50% occupancy. Temperatures of all people entering Souls Kids are checked and all those with a temperature of over 100 degrees Fahrenheit are invited to watch online. Complimentary hand sanitizing is available at our check-in station and throughout the lobby. Souls Kids toys and check-in stations will be sanitized before and after each service. Outside toys and snacks are temporarily not permitted.

Can I bring my own coffee or water? Yes, you are welcome to bring your own water or coffee. Our coffee shop and self-serve water/coffee stations will be temporarily closed. We will also offer free bottled water.

Souls Church is hoping to reopen for in-person worship the weekend of July 12!

Friday, June 12, 2020

Over the next several weeks, we will continue to monitor health updates and guidelines, and be posting additional information on this page regarding our weekend services and information about our new policies and procedures.  We are committed to reopening in a way that prioritizes the health, safety, and comfort of everyone during Covid-19.
We know that some of you might not be ready to come back, and that’s ok! You can continue to worship with us through Souls Church Online and find ongoing, daily content through our app, Facebook, and Instagram platforms.
We know you may have some questions for us. Over the next several weeks we will be addressing as many of those as possible on this page, so check back for regular updates. For now, we wanted to answer a few that we know are on many of your minds…
Why is Souls Church waiting so long to reopen?
We are so excited to begin to worship with you in person. The health and safety of our attendees and Dream Team is our first priority, and with the CDC guidelines changing daily, we wanted to continue to monitor what was best. We also wanted to watch and learn from other churches in our community as they began to reopen, what has worked and what has not been effective. Lastly, we want to be able to offer kids care – with so many kids in our church, that was a big factor.
How will Souls Church be enabling social-distancing at its location?
As we move towards reopening, we will be communicating our plans in greater detail. We will be utilizing signage and Dream Team leaders as we encourage attendees to arrive, head to their seats, and limit gatherings in the lobby’s and foyers as much as possible. In our auditorium, we will be opening the doors at 8:45 am, and seating attendees to help maintain social distancing.
How is Souls Church cleaning its facility?
We will conduct regular cleanings of our areas between services to ensure proper sanitation of our high-traffic spaces. Additionally, hand sanitizer stations will be located throughout our facilities.
Do attendees have to wear a face mask or reserve a seat online?
Face masks will be available in the lobby for any attendees who would like one. Our ushers and greeters will be wearing them as well at every service. Reserved seating is not required at this time, it will be offered on a first come, first serve basis. If we reach capacity, we will invite you to watch the service online.
Again, we look forward to gathering in person soon, and we will be posting additional information on this page regarding our weekend services and information about our new policies and procedures in the weeks to come!
